On a FB page for abandoned exploration, Aaron Martin writes, "Be careful out exploring folks. Don't go alone, tell someone where you'll be and when you're coming back and keep the kids close. Snake season is upon us and vegetation will be growing over dangerous stuff like wells, boards with nails and metal. Today I found this well about 10 feet off a trail I have been using for years. Never knew it was there."

Sage advice. Most wells are covered and you wouldn't know you found it until you stepped on the rotting boards covering the hole, and fell through.
